Thanks for the reply.

I did try NAME="", but that also didn't seem to work.

BTW, I'm using udev-135.

Is there a particular order in the rules that I need to be aware of
that may affect the default device node creation behaviour?

Currently, I've tried putting the NAME="" rule in
/etc/udev/rules.d/99-ignore.rules.

Would it help if I provided my sample rules and the debug output of udevd?
