OpenSSL 1.0.1e is from almost ten years ago and it has not been
supported for years.. I would not expect anything older than OpenSSL
1.0.2 to work with the current hostap.git version. I see no point in
trying to make such obsolete versions usable in hostap.git. It is much
more useful to clean up the OpenSSL wrappers by getting rid of old
backwards compatibility defines.
