It appears that to get to 4-way handshake I need EVENT_PORT_AUTHORIZED, which depends on EVENT_ASSOC with an WPA/RSN IE. For "wired" devices which use EVENT_NEW_STA the EVENT_ASSOC is bypassed. So it looks like wired devices only support EAPOL authentication followed by plaintext data. So how can I get the PMK from the EAPOL Authentication MSK and trigger the 4-way handshake? Is there a way to add an association without requiring the IE?
