I presume the peer ( Potential GC ) must be running p2p_find to receive invitation request and respond.

The peer behavior depends on configuration and state (whether the group is previously known). There is not going to be any kind of group formation at this point since the group has already been formed (autonomous GO). If the peer has no knowledge of the group, you would simply see a P2P-INVITATION-RECEIVED event with "unknown-network" on the peer device. On the other hand, if you are using persistent groups, you can configure the peer to not use automatic re-invocation (not to use it is actually the default anyway) and instead, require higher layer action to join the group.
