I thought this was the case as well, however I just read this in the man page for unzip on Etch: Dates, times and permissions of stored directories are not restored except under Unix. (On Windows NT and successors, timestamps are now restored.) Does "Unix," to this man page author, include Linux? I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong about this, I will have to revisit the issue when I don't have a hangover.
