I had the same problem a long time ago when building glib-2.0.0 on a Solaris 2.5.1 machine. It's not a very nice fix, but to get around it I simply added a dummy "all-local" target to the docs/reference/glib/Makefile file so that it would carry on building okay but I just wouldn't get whatever came out of the documentation directory (since I had downloaded the tarballs anyway). The target did nothing, i.e. was just a "all-local:" line followed by a blank line. I believe that I had to do a similar thing for the docs/reference/gobject directory and then again for the gdk-pixbuf, gdk and gtk directories when building gtk+-2.0.0 afterwards. It was all okay after that. Hope that helps, Richard Warren. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chu, Conway" <Conway_Chu@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <gtk-list@xxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, August 12, 2003 3:28 PM Subject: glib make errors > Hi Everyone, > > I'm trying to build glib-2.0.4 and am encountering the following errors in > the make process: > > > make: Fatal error: Don't know how to make target `all-local' > Current working directory > /space/tools/gnome2.0/glib-2.0.4/docs/reference/glib > *** Error code 1 > make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `all-recursive' > Current working directory /space/tools/gnome2.0/glib-2.0.4/docs/reference > *** Error code 1 > make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `all-recursive' > Current working directory /space/tools/gnome2.0/glib-2.0.4/docs > *** Error code 1 > make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `all-recursive' > Current working directory /space/tools/gnome2.0/glib-2.0.4 > *** Error code 1 > make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `all-recursive-am' > # > > > Has anyone encountered the same problem?
