2GB log file is a massive log file.

Perhaps you should look at rotating the log files

to make things a bit more manageable.

Subject: large logging file

Hello all,

I am wondering whether a large logging file (over 2G) will crash the gnugk.

We had gnugk stopped working and logging (the gap is as below), and found the last logging file is over 2G. Once restart the daemon with a new log file, gnugk is running again.

$ ls /srv/gnugk/log/gk.log* -l

-rw-r--r--    1 root     root        91965 Sep  9 02:03 /srv/gnugk/log/gk.log

-rw-r--r--    1 root     root     2147483647 Sep  8 08:34 /srv/gnugk/log/gk.log.bak

Regards

Leon
