I should have noted that with this configuration I see these entries in the log:

2010/11/15 13:40:29.254 2 Toolkit.cxx(291)   Default IP=x.x.x.5
2010/11/15 13:40:29.262 2 Toolkit.cxx(291)   Default IP=x.x.x.11
