With various pwlib/openh323 combinations successfully compiled - Pandora to Atlas on Win2K SP4 and PSDK latest, I have still not been able to compile the GNUgk v2.0.10cvs - which is the best version of pwlib/openh323 to use for it?. I have however been able to successfully compile GNUgk v2.2.3cvs with MySQL (link libmySQL.lib and include: c:\mysql\include folder) in Pandora without OpenSSL and in Atlas with OpenSSL. The debug versions did not work for lack of debug libs in OpenSSL, Expat_lib and OpenLDAP. Addpasswd.exe in GNUgk v223cvs - Release - was able to be compiled only if set to DebugMultiThreadedDLL and not merely MultiThreaded. Those of you who are upgrading to the latest Microsoft Platform SDK if you are on Win2K and using MSVC6, then beware:- http://blogs.msdn.com/michkap/archive/2005/04/27/412454.aspx The above link amply demonstrates why. "microsoft.public.platformsdk.mslayerunicode newsgroup: ...that's a known issue with the February 2003 SDK and later. The unicows.lib contains debugging information compatible only the VC 7 and above. There's nothing that can be done about this, unfortunately. Microsoft decided that Visual Studio 6.0 is no longer a supported platform for any future Platform SDKs." Although the above pertains to unicows.lib, I had to rollback two other libs in the PSDK include folder. To workaround this issue, you'll have to find another unicows.lib from an SDK before February 2003 SDK (e.g. the October 2002 SDK). You can obtain that here: http://groups.google.co.uk/groups?hl=en&lr=&selm=ev4JMaN0EHA.804%40TK2MSFTNG P12.phx.gbl (400MB) The older .LIB file will allow VC6 to work properly. If you don't want to download the whole 400 megabytes of SDK and just want unicows.lib from the October 2002 SDK - you can grab it here: http://download.microsoft.com/download/platformsdk/sdk/update/win98mexp/en-u s/3718.1/CoreSDK-common.2.1.cab download above CAB file, then open with WinZip, extract the file unicows_lib.6DA6B05C_F046_4C67_A496_DF436A2C490B, then rename it to unicows.lib and copy to your LIB folder. The above applies to other lib files as well. Regards, Ap.Muthu ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: NEC IT Guy Games.
