Temporary failure usually means lack of some resources at that particular moment. The gatekeeper generates temporary failure only when accounting cannot be stored. But you mentioned earlier, that you have no "start" event configured for accounting. You can try to store release source variable with FileAcct to see who sent release complete. Maybe one of your call generators runs out of some resources.

You are probably running out of sockets. See http://www.gnugk.org/gnugk-manual-2.html , section 2.1.
If that's not it, find out and post precisely what is failing, and include information about your libraries and what OS you are using.
