I have submitted a "patch"  in list some days ago...
that can rewrite numbers based on sql logic....

This way you can rewrite anything anywhere 
and on the fly... depending on the logic stored
in sql tables  and functions in sql (using postgres...)

it accepts the number to call and expects the
result from a call to an sql function
