RE: billing

Hi Glaucius,

I'm not sure if it's easier to do but I think is more reliable since
Gnugk seems to have very accurate file accounting from my experience in
using it.
But if your concern about customers exceeding amount of mins then I
don't think this would be an ideal solution. You would probably be
looking for something more on the real time side such as Mysql
Accouting(from gnugk directly) or Radius Accouting.

I haven't come across any programs that read in the cdr files, parses
them, and stores into a db, but it should be very feasible to do. You
should be able to do this in PHP. Maybe have a cron job that runs some
php code every x mins which opens up the cdr file and parses into DB.

Others use Radius for accounting, but I've never tested radius with
Gnugk so I'm not sure how accurate or reliable it is with Gnugk.

Another way is to have a program listening on Gnugk's status port for
cdrs, which it then parses and stores into a database. I believe there
are like 1 or 2 programs out there that do this. But I think this in my
opinion would be the least reliable.

Freddy, Yu sure, it can be easier, because I don't need to change my
gnugk configuration, but, where can I found some software to catch
info from cdr log files and put into a database mysql ?

the frontend to extract information from mysql I can make using PHP
and later distribute under GPL.

best regards !!
