Can you lay your hand on sjphone.

It works better for me

Quoting Benjamin Deutsch <ben@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>:

Hello,

I'm currently trying to get a H.323 connection between two Win32
computers, hidden behind two NAT boxes. At this stage, I'm merely
wondering if my case is hopeless or not, and maybe some pointers if
canned responses (HOWTOs etc.) exist that I may not have found.

The setup is as follows:

- I am at Win32 computer A1, using (currently) NetMeeting. A1 is hidden
behind a NAT router.
- NAT for A1 is provided by my Debian box, A2, with iptables. I control
A2, and have installed the Debian (unstable) gnu-gk package.
- My colleague is at Win32 computer B1, using (currently) NetMeeting. B1
is also hidden behind a NAT.
- NAT for B1 is beyond our control; B1 can establish TCP connections,
but not accept them (i.e. no server sockets).
- The vastness of the Internet divides us.

We're both *very* new to H.323 and related technologies, the focus now
is just to "get it working". Following information such as
http://mail.gnome.org/archives/gnomemeeting-list/2002-November/msg00137.html

to the best of my capabilities, I have tried to set up Gatekeeper as a
proxy in the hopes that it will help. So far, it has not. We can both
connect to the GK, but our NetMeetings "cannot accept any calls".

Is such a setup actually doable, that is without being able to touch the
NAT system protecting B1? Or are we doomed from the start? If it's
possible, I'm more than willing to experiment / read more, but so far,
we don't even know that it *can* work.

Thanks for your time,

  Benjamin Deutsch
