Well, I always compile with LARGE_FDSET. There are no other daemons running on the box, apart from SSH and Apache (which are both blocked by IPchains). I guess a P3 933 just doesn't cut it. I'll be installing a new Dual XEON GK Soon, so I'll have new results.
