How to set up a conference server ?

I would like to set up a Linux server to be able to do 3 or 4 parties
conferencing ( at least audio, if possible +video) compatible with
Netmeeting and Gnomemeeting.

I have been said to use gatekeeper or asterisk.

How should I proceed ? I dont find any doc about GM and conferencing ...
