I once implemented this kind of functionality. It is doable and it 
will work, but you will need to do more things on startup, need to 
poll endpoints actively and act on nonresponsive endpoints (and 
their calls!). What do you need to save in the storage? 

But it is not impossible and not that difficult, but it need to 
be done correctly in one go, you can't do it halfways.
