Authentication Problem!

Hi
I want authentication at the telnet port opened by gnugk.

[GkStatus::Auth]
rule=password

Giving the above to the configuration file starts asking for
username/password at the telnet port
But the username/password that I generate from addpasswd utility is not
getting accepted i.e I am not able to log in at 7000 port after connecting
by telnet.The entry for password in config file is like this -
#id=gkroot password=gkroot

[Password]
KeyFilled=gkroot
CheckID=FALSE
PasswordTimeout=0
gkroot=c6X9BFOi0IY=

I will appreciate any help that you can provide me.
