Hi,

Morning,

Below are list of things that I have done :
1) dowloaded openh323 version 1.13.5 , PWlib version 1.6.6, MySQL 4.0, (as for OpenSSL, I assume it should be part of the Fedore Core Linux- if it is not please advise).
2) Place all folder in my Home Directory. Extract all .gz file. Make the build as set out in the manual http://www.openh323.org/build.html such as
PWLIBDIR=$HOME/pwlib
export PWLIBDIR
OPENH323DIR=$HOME/openh323
export OPENH323DIR
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$PWLIBDIR/lib:$OPENH323DIR/lib
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH

"make both" on PWLib and "make opt" on openh323.

3) I can see the directory ~/pwlib and ~/openh323, but under ~/openh323/samples/simple/obj_linux_x86_r/simph323, I am unable to execute this simph323

4) I am also unable to run the command below as set out in the manual (http://www.gnugk.org/h323manual.html) . The error is "no such file or directory /usr/sbin/gnugk"

You just compile PWLIB and OPENH323 but not gnugk.

--> $ /usr/sbin/gnugk -c /etc/gnugk.ini -o /var/log/gnugk.log -ttt

What does this command really do ? please advise.

It run the gatekeeper in medium verbose mode using config file gnugk.ini located in /etc. gnugk is the binary executable. Sould be located in /usr/sbin

5) What are the executable names that I should be looking to run the gatekeeper, is it "gnugk" ? I could not find the executable "gnugk" . What other steps have I miss out, please kindly advsie.

As said above, compile the gatekeeper program.

Thanks a lot for those kind individual who have reply to me. It certainly helps to give me a kickstart.

Jim.

Welcome.

Daniel

Is installed openh323,pwlib,openssl? in the machine?

No have one fedora machine installed, but if this help someone I can install it and prove gnugk on the fedora.

Searching in the google,
http://www.fedora.us/pipermail/fedora-devel/2003-August/001879.html
This is old no? ;-)
Cheers

What is the problem - you receive a core dump?
If so, you can try to build the gatekeeper from the sources.
Some other person also reported some problems with Fedora,
maybe someone can confirm if there is some problem
with running gnugk on Fedora?

I am new in Gnugk. I have gone through the Gatekeeper Download page and
download the file Linux Executable (static, with Radius authentication and
accounting, with MySQL, no LDAP support) Version 2.0.7 . I am using Fedora
Core Linux as my operating system. Below are the list of procedure that I
had done

a) tar -xzvf gnugk-2.0.7-linux-x86.tgz
b) folder openh323gk came out. Under openh323gk/bin/gnugk (executable file
is gnugk). I am unable to run gnugk. Please advise.

Are there any steps that I might be missing. Please help. I have used the
online manual at http://www.gnugk.org/h323manual.html . Are there any other
manual available ?

Thanks for any help.

Jim.
