PloyCom Endpoint - Cisco MCM - gnugk - PolyCom Endpoint: problem

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi,
I am trying to get a gnu-gk working for the first time. I would like it to
interwork with my service provider's Cisco H323 infrastructure.

Currently I have it half working. It routes E.164 calls in to the zone and
out of the zone to other destinations where the endpoints are PolyCom iPower
2.0.4. These remote terminals register with a Cisco MCM/proxy and are part
of the educational networks Global Dialing Scheme using a E.164 number plan.
Addresses are resolved via a top-level 'directory gatekeeper' (another
Cisco).

But when I try to or from an MCU (a PolyCom MGC 100) in the same way (the
MCU is also registered with a Cisco), the call fails. My gnu-gk outputs
sensible LCF messages (I think the address resolution works), but then it
outputs the following:

ARJ|192.88.9.6:1720|4401970639469:dialedDigits=100:dialedDigits=aber-penglai
s-wv
@aber.ac.uk:h323_ID|ED-JCMB-2009:h323_ID=0044011491001:dialedDigits|true|rou
teCallToGatekeeper;

I have also tried connecting to a newer PolyCom using E.164: that works, but
it can't connect to me (Destination Unreachable) it is running current
PolyCom iPower software. I get a similar ARJ message when it tries. None of
this works using IP addresses either....and it doesn't make a difference if
the gnu-gk is in routed mode or not.

I have asked for a copy of the config of the remote end gatekeeper Ciscos to
compare to the ones that do work, but the only other difference between the
successful calls and the unsuccessful calls is that the successful calls are
running later versions of the PolyCom software (MCU or terminal).

Have others been able to get gnu-gk interworking with PolyComs registered
with Ciscos?

I have tried using ArjReasonRouteCallToGatekeeper=0 - but that didn't seem
to make a difference.

The gnu-gk config.ini file I am using is below. The gnu-gk website claims
compatibility with the Accord 100 MCU and the PolyCom 512, ViewStation and
Via Video, but it does not mention the iPower or the PolyCom MGC 100 - is
this because they don't interwork? has anyone got them to do so?

have tried to RTFM to no avail. Any comments appreciated.

Many thanks,

Geoff
