there is new RedHat 9.0a (latest) server
AMD XP2000+, 512MB, 10GB (2% used)
No calls, CPU usage is 3%
GNUGK 2.0.6 latest CVS build...

whats your disk usage, ram usage and cpu usage ? whats the swap ?
how many active calls you have when your gk crash ?

btw, if you really want a solution always send the complete info about your
system with the version (I see the version though).
