I have to argue against the previous writers:
I was no gnome2 User and moved to gnome3 because I like the concept.
And: Linux Mint will definitely move to gnome3 but they're working on
extensions to change panel behaviour and in general immitate the
look&feel of gnome2.
No problem, name whatever you want gnome3, gnome4... newgnome...
just give the user what he had it make a new interface as an option
not a new product make makes an end user "lost in space" ...
computers should be focus on end users not on technicians
