I am constantly using apps that I want to leave on for long periods of time, but that I don't want hanging around in the taskbar (cluttering things up). These apps are generally things like p2p programs and bittorrent gui's.
Also, I really like the burn cd utility in nautilus. However, it'd be great if there were a meter that would let you know how much space you had to use on the medium. Another important option would be the ability to automatically convert .mp3s or .ogg files into audio cd .wav files.
Gnome 2.8 is really looking great, please keep up the good work!
