This problem is solved in the development version and will be available 
through a gconf-key in Gnome 2.8.

What I did is to make all my windows partitions is changing the fstab option
'auto' to 'noauto'. This way the Icons are only shown if the disc is mounted.
But now I have to open Computer-><Disc> every time I want to access the
partition. Maybe this help you.
