Just a comment, not meaning to hijack the thread....

Sometimes when things are working so well, why go past higher. I mean I suffered with 3.x, 4.x and 5.x  with memory leaks in the gluster fuse mount, as well as other bugs that wroke writing, and after having to reboot servers every 2-4 weeks for a long time, things have been so stable with 6.x in my case that why even risk an upgrade to 8.

Yes I know I should do it, but I want to enjoy a good night sleep and not being anxious about the thing imploding cause it ate all the RAM again.

Hi,
Can anyone help me out with installing gluster version 5.10 on a debian system. I am not able to find any relevant docs mentioning the steps or guidelines.
Here is my machine configuration:

cat /proc/version
Linux version 4.9.0-12-amd64 (debian-kernel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx) (gcc version 6.3.0 20170516 (Debian 6.3.0-18+deb9u1) ) #1 SMP Debian 4.9.210-1 (2020-01-20)

Any reason for going with version 5.10? Currently supported versions in the community are 8.x and 9.x series. Considering we just stopped support of 7.x series, I recommend at least considering 7.x series in the worst case.

Amar
