On the same note, I've just got .src RPM for 3.4.4 and the patch is not
there. From the email trail it seems that it's not officially backported
to 3.4.4. It is present in the latest GIT release though..
Yup, like Justin said in a later thread, the patch has been merged in 3.4 branch and is available 3.4.5 beta1 onwards. Backports happen to a 'branch' and is available in the subsequent 'release' made off that branch.
Just to make sure I'm doing the right thing the code change (patch :) is
only about those 12 lines in 'fuse_getxattr', right?
You can apply http://review.gluster.org/#/c/8164/ manually to the 3.4.4 source; that should be fine.
I'm going to manually add it and rebuilt 3.4.4 here at work so I just
want to make sure I won't miss half the patch or smth... :)

Would that be in 3.4.5 or we can apply a patch on 3.4.4?

I am planning to deploy a prod on 3.4.4.

Thanks

Note that the patch is 11 months old. Why it isn't merged in 3.4 branch yet?

Sounds like we just need to backport it to release-3.4 branch then.
Thank you, that would be fine :) It's surprising that nobody reported
it in 3.4 yet. I was able to crash my 1GB testlab VM in a few minutes
(150,000 small files copied to Gluster required more than 800MB of
glusterfs process heap).
