In my case, the solution was to run "rpmbuild -ta glusterfs-1.4.0rc6.tar.gz", install packages to satisfy dependencies and then run "rpmbuild -ta glusterfs-1.4.0rc6.tar.gz --without apxs_default". Minor problem when I went to install: -bash-3.2# rpm -U /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/x86_64/glusterfs-*rpm /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.71291: line 2: /apxs: No such file or directory error: %post(glusterfs-1.4.0rc6-1.x86_64) scriptlet failed, exit status 127
