Well, luckily we have a precedent for this: "yum update" doesn't kill the old apache, postfix etc. :-)


With the part of your BZ about this error message:

error reading information on service glusterfsd: No such file or directory

Fairly sure that error message (not the daemon killing) is caused by a missing
/etc/init.d/glusterfsd.  Filed a BZ for that a while ago:

Let's hope it gets fixed before the stable release.
