In light testing, the new fuse module is about 10-15% slower than the old one (glfs1) Harris ----- Original Message ----- From: "Anand Avati" <avati@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "gluster-devel" <gluster-devel@xxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, August 6, 2007 9:08:25 AM (GMT-0500) America/New_York Subject: patched fuse - fuse-2.7.0-glfs2 Hi all, Here is another version of patched FUSE from the GlusterFS team. http://ftp.zresearch.com/pub/gluster/glusterfs/fuse/fuse-2.7.0-glfs2.tar.gz This version of FUSE, along with patch-432 or above should give improved performance for write operations. In particular 'cp' and 'rsync' should work better for large files (> 1MB). Please note that for NFS re-export compatibility, you will have to run 'glusterfs' with "--direct-io-mode=disable" command line arguments. thanks! avati -- It always takes longer than you expect, even when you take into account Hofstadter's Law. -- Hofstadter's Law _______________________________________________ Gluster-devel mailing list Gluster-devel@xxxxxxxxxx http://lists.nongnu.org/mailman/listinfo/gluster-devel
