I can reorder and resubmit if needed...
But, since the bug isn't actually showing any symptoms in the existing
code, and since the fix only depends on patch 1/3 ("rename parse_date"
cleanup) rather than 2/3 + 3/3 (localtime + atnight features), I'm
hoping this won't be a major point of contention.
