Luis Diego: Yo can remove it yourself when you want. Just go to (assuming your GIMP is in spanish, your name looks spanish to me :-) "ventanas > Diálogos empotrables > herramientas" and you can activate/de-activate any tool in the toolbox, including the zoom tool. Despite what a lot of people say, GIMP UI allows a lot of customization.
