Include python support when compiling for windows in msys?

I have followed the process outlined in the wiki:
http://wiki.gimp.org/gimp/HowToCompileGimp/MicrosoftWindows

and successfully compiled 2.6.6 but without python support.

I have python installed in my system, and tried just removing the
--disable-python flag but it did not work.... obviously because the
shell doesn't know where python is.

Can anyone suggest how to get python installed under MinGW32/MSYS?
