hue and saturation adjustments

hi,
i was told by a friend that photo$hop's method of adjusting hue and saturation was very nice. since he did not show me and i don't have photo$hop here, i looked for it on the net and i came across this:
http://www.photoshopsupport.com/ib-m-12-06/adjust-hue-saturation.mov
instead of just having the option to selec master, red, cyan (and so on) you can actually see (and change) the range of colours that you are working on the image.

indeed it is much nicer to control the colors like that... would it be possible to do something similar in gimp?
is the closest thing to that in gimp the 'colormap rotation' tool?

thanks a lot,
roberto.
