I've uploaded a snapshot of the opening help screen for gimp-2.2.3 built on AIX 5.1 with the IBM C compiler and against gnome-2.8.2: ftp://support.thewrittenword.com/outgoing/gimp/help-on-aix51.jpeg I don't see a similar problem on Solaris, HP-UX, IRIX, Tru64 UNIX, or RHEL.
