The user would be in full control of what conversions happens, and could choose not to apply a transform, for most unspecified rgb data, sRGB would probably be a safe assumption, and thus would be no problem in actual use, the added benefit would be that the images would be "blessed" with correct information, when users have a monitor profile as well, they can be assured that the reproduction of the images is correct across other color managed programs and devices. /pippin
