Well, there are license issues when a non-GPL application makes calls to GPL-ed code by whatever means. This is a difficult subject and it's hard to judge if a plug-in should be considered part of the GIMP application (which would mean that the GPL applies) or if it's a mere aggregation as per section 2 of the GNU General Public License. Our position on this is outlined in the file LICENSE which is included with the GIMP source tree. Sven
