Fair enough. I don't feel my code compromises anything, but I definitely
understand the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" attitude.
I find it useful (and use the gimp this way) so I figured I'd offer it up for
everybody else to use. Perhaps the new tile code could be a configure option?
(Since it's really just a matter of wholesale replacing one file and changing
a single line.)
