I can recommend my sequence-file script at http://www.pvtnet.cz/www/pvt.benkovsk/gimp/ It loads and saves layers from/to multiple files. They must be properly numbered, however. I use it especially for loading povray and blender images :-) If there's no problem with the script, would somebody with GIMP CVS write access consider adding it to CVS?
