http://manual.gimp.org/en/gimp-using-selections.html Second paragraph in section 2.1.1 states stat you can use the Move tool to move a selection. In the latest version of Gimp, I believe this to be wrong. OK, with my testing, this is not correct. The move tool moves the entire layer.
