It is similar in that it tends to do the same thing, but with a cleaner
api and such. pippin and I have been talking in IRC which is why his

Yes, but you can do better than that. Well, for one thing, you can make
it so that only the tiles that are requested are pulled exactly when you
request them.
Agreed. They should be unbounded, so you can request any
regions on the image, and it still works.
As outlined just now (in my previous email), I totally agree.
