Dear Mr. Taylor: I tried to follow the instructions on the page http://gcc.gnu.org/install/configure.html to the best of my ability. I created a directory called "objdir" under my home directory, entered that directory, and invoked "gcc/configure --enable-languages=c,c++". Thank you.
