I don't think so.  The cost of forming the tech committee is already
very high, and this would make it higher.  It's expensive to travel to
meetings.  You don't want to be in a situation where only the largest
vendors have a voice because no-one else can afford to be on the
committee.  (Arguably we're in that situation already, but I don't
want it to get even worse.)
