Just for a fun I tried this for 'sparc-elf' with gcc-4.4.5 and
newlib-1.18.0 sources. I had 'gmp', 'mpfr', 'newlib' and 'libgloss'
as the extra subdirs, so the first two were configured and built for
the $host and the last two for the $target... The 'make install' just
going on, earlier 'make' had no problems...
