I think there tries to be a patch somewhere i heard of that catches the idea of saying a real machine that works for what code tries to be about for what it takes to spill it out to assembly code. http://groups.google.com/group/comp.lang.c/msg/073812010e0516a4 maybe this thread tries to find a punchline about that idea?
