The common rule is that the "appropriate library" is always the C library for the $target! ____________________________- As there no longer exist any production CPUs which support only 32-bit i386, and not 64-bit x86-64, this seems an inappropriate time to attempt institution of cross-compiler capability. Intel compilers for x86-64 run in 32-bit mode, in an apparently impractical attempt to support cross compilation. All the headers, libraries, and a cross-build of binutils, for the 64-bit target, would have to be present. I don't know of any successful demonstration of such capability. Tim Prince
