Your questions suggest that you have to learn a lot about how the automake tookchain works. If all you want is a newer compiler then I suggest you just download one from the GNU-Ada-Project [1]. While Ada is indeed priority, we compile all gcc-languages which won't put up a fuss. Martin PS: RPM on cygwin - Well, we got the build-specs from the Linux build and we just execute then under Cygwin - saves us lot's of time.
