I resorted to a "4-operand" select instruction (i.e. takes a predicate, a dest and two src operands) than conditional moves (i.e. conditional move is a subcase). The code produced seems to take advantage of if-then-else structures that i've set up, even on not-so-obvious cases. I'm currently checking sanity via cross-simulations. thanks again.
