GOT usage or data relocation ?

Hi,
I hope it is the good mailing list for these questions ; if it's not case, excuse me and say me where is the best place.

I use a powerpc-elf-gcc compiler to target a MPC8247.
I would like to compile a tiny boot and application that run in Flash area (Read-Only).
I think to lock stack in Data cache, and use internals DPRAMs of MPC8247 (4KB x 2) for .sdata, .sdata2, .data, .bss and .sbss sections.
Which is the best solution to do that ?
I try to use -fPIC -ffixed-r14 to use Global Offset Table, but i don't know how GOT works ;-(
Does anyone have a good web link or simple example about GOT with a powerpc ?
Thanks,
Sebastien.
