Hi Brian,

It appears that you are not trying to install GCC on AIX.

It appears that you are trying to build GCC on AIX.

To build GCC, you need to have a compiler installed first.

Download a precompiled GCC for AIX, and install that.  If desired, then
build GCC and install the newly built GCC.
