install-sh not found during make install 3.4.0

Thanks to the help from this list on the arg list too long, I got gcc
3.4.0 compiled under AIX. When I tried to make install, I got, at various
points, "/usr/local/bin/bash: ../gcc340src/install-sh: A file or directory
in the path name does not exist.". When I put the full path of install-sh
in the INSTALL variable in the Makefile, it works.

The directory I was getting the source from (../gcc340src) is actually a
symlink to another directory. Could that be the root of the problem?
When I set the full path in the Makefile, I used the real path.
