ld: can't find -lstdc++

Hello,

I'm a newbie at this mailing list, so "hello everybody" and I have +/- 6 months experience with Linux.

I trying to install on a Pentium III...i686/redhat 9.0

When I was trying to upgrade my gcc compiler from version 3.2.2(was doing strange things with some programs...delete[] in destructor..) to latest stable(?) version 3.4.0...
I could 'configure' the stuff I guess but couldn't 'make' it without lstdc++ errors.
I read that you need to make some changes in to configure shell script...but couldn't understand where it was all about.

Also tried version 3.3.3 but same result. I still have the same linking error....tried to paste libstdc++-v3.0.97 into 3.4.0...Unfortunately I have upgraded my gcc...

I could distinguish from other platforms - compilers -... that it's related to some static library link. But I don't know how I can arrange this matter. So I really appreciate any help.

Kind regards,
Wim
